Church Lady

Lexi has been to church three of her six weekends in existence. It's a great opportunity for us to play dress up, and for J to show off his doll. She usually gets kidnapped by the church ladies as soon as we walk through the door. Here she is last week with the pastor's wife (left) and her Grammie Roselyn (Jervon's mom).

This weekend there were a few more layers to the outfit so there was crying (with real tears). Here she is begging her mama to get her out of those itchy clothes. She wore stockings for the first time. She obviously didn't think they were as cute as I did.

Any fashionista must be able to tell details of her outfit. Dress bought by Baby Daddy, sweater knitted by Lexi's Italian G-Pa "Mr.C". Accessories and hair by mom.
MEET THE GRANS- Part 2

Jervon's mom Roselyn is spending a few weeks with her first grandbaby. She and Lexi have had some great bonding moments on the backyard swing. Lex will have to wait a few more weeks to meet her "Nona" Nora - my mom.

Where's Mommy?

So I've heard from many of Alexa's fans that photos of her mama have been glaringly absent from the blog. This is partly because I've had the camera surgically attached to my hand so I can photograph Alexa's every movement. Also, sleepless nights and post pregnancy figure do not a photogenic mama make. But for those who actually still care to see me (after all, it's all about the baby) ... here goes.

Father's Day Special

Alexa is crazy about her daddy because he makes silly faces, buys her pretty dresses, lets her sleep on his belly and he takes great care of her mommy.

Sometimes they wear matching outfits. Good thing daddy looks good in pink.
This is a daily occurrence. I've taken dozens of photos of these sleeping beauties. And just like her daddy, Ali sleeps with one eye half open.

Tyra who? Alexa at 1 month

It's been four weeks since Miss Alexa made her debut and completely changed our world. I've learned that I can function much better on two hours sleep than I ever imagined. I don't feel as silly doing baby talk as I thought I would. From the moment she arrived, something clicked and we both feel this primal need to protect her. Alexa loves bath time, reggae music, walks and sitting on her dad's belly. She dislikes corny lullabies, my singing and cold wipes.

Meet the Grans part 1

Alexa has several grandparents and grandaunts and uncles who can't wait to get their hands on her. This weekend, Jervon's Uncle Roy and Aunt Deloris made the trip from Nassau, Bahamas to meet their grand niece. She loved all the attention.

I hope they realize this picture is all about me.

Whatcha talking 'bout Uncle Roy?

Yes girl, I hear you.

Three Weeks -- More Sweet Alexa Goodness

The last three weeks have been a whirlwind. Everything revolves around Alexa -- staring at her sweet face, feeding her, changing her, trying not to break her. She's already developing quite a personality and we're learning to read her facial expressions and her various cries.

Her complextion is darkening - she's turning into a chocolate baby... Enjoy!
