Gregoire Girls

Her trip was delayed by three months, but not even major surgery could keep Mama Gregoire away from her grandbaby. We've taken long walks in the neighborhood, made a fun trip to Oxford to see Auntie Arlene and revel in the remnants of the debate, hung out on the banks of the Mississippi, etc., etc. It's just so fabulous to have my mom here. Lexi is in grandma heaven.

This week, between shopping and sightseeing, we'll be preparing for Lexi's christening. I can't wait for Sunday when a dear group of friends and family will gather in Oxford for the blessed event. Of course, we'll post lost of photos. Meanwhile, here are some fun snaps from our weekend.

Hey Natashia! First of all, your Mom looks like she could be your sister! I'm so glad she could come visit.

As for the food question (posted on my blog), I am a bad person to ask because I was terrified of giving Tate anything except for baby food for the longest time. But he took to the grown up food like a fish in water. The first things we tried non-pureed were little baby peas, tiny pieces of banana, and puffs (they melt, so it's not so scary if she chokes). Get ready for some scary moments where she might gag or choke. I think I've had four or five mini-heart attacks watching Tate eat. You might want to start by putting some very small pieces of banana in her cereal. Good luck!! :-)

Thanks Jenny! Just when you think you're getting the hang of this parenting thing, here comes a new curveball. I'll definitely try putting banana in her cereal. She's just getting the hang of eating off a spoon, but she seems to love it. What brand of baby food did you use? Did you make your own?

As for my mom, I can only hope that I inherited half her good genes, but alas ...
